Ho ho hooold up! News?!

Well, guys, all the president has to do is sign it. The House and Senate just voted to repeal "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and it passed. Now it's on it's way to Obama's desk. Happy? I am!
Click here to read the article on msnbc.
Remember to read up on Don't Ask Don't Tell. We will have a debate when we get back from break! I will divide you into teams at random, so be ready.

I am trying to post some Equality Panda comics, but my printer/scanner's down, so it may be a while yet. Keep checking up for posts!

Our VP is up north (very north) for the holidays~! Have a white Christmas, Minnesota! <3
I'll be here, though. Feel free to text me if you want to plan something. I am trying to do a party or get together of some sort over the break and I would LOVE some help or suggestions.

Happy Holidays GSA!
Love,
Your President

Vacation~!

Hey everyone. I hope you are all enjoying your vacation! I know most of you won't see this for a week or two, and I wasn't planning to post again until after it was up, but I just had to show you all another video.

I was watching Funimation channel and saw this commercial:

I totally made my day. It's pretty old. This video was posted over two years ago! But I had no idea that they were so popular (they used to be all over the airways). Here is another one I found:

These are a really good example of a kind way to tell someone to shut the heck up when they use slurs.

I hope they make you smile.

I'm thankful for these, because they made my day. :)
I love y'all.
Gorge yourself, relax, hang with family/friends, and have fun.

Your President,
S.C. Hemming

Hey, people.

Dear Laguna Creek GSA:

Sorry it didn't post last time. ^^U I'm going to start posting from another computer until mine one stops acting up on blogspot. :P

Anyway, remember that Transgender Day of Remembrance is November 18th. We have not organized anything in particular yet, but feel free to remember in your own way. Perhaps google some names to remember on that day? Many events will end up being held on the twentieth, however. There is a service in Sacramento:

Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 6:30 PM
the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral
2620 Capital Avenue, Sacramento, CA. 95816

For a list of the people we are remembering on this day:
There is a list here.

If you end up going, feel free to share it GSA next week.

Food fair is coming up! We are doing - as of right now - just rainbow cupcakes. It's supposed to be easy this time, so that we can work on just getting the paperwork through ASB and getting things set up on time. It should be fun. :)

The "Multicultural/racial" Assembly is in February, but I need ideas now for anything that we can use. The more ideas I can take into Hanes and Craig, the better. Please tell me about any ideas you have and whether you are willing to participate, thanks.

Lastly, I'm sorry to the few members that came to the meeting today and stayed for the full time, just to end up witnessing a petty argument. I'm really really sorry. It wasn't diplomatic of me to take out personal issues in the club and I apologize to all of you who had to see that. I know I didn't seem like a very good president. I am still new at this and I will try harder to control myself next time.
This club is one of the few things I'm willing to fight for, and I detest when people make it out to be a petty excuse for my own rebellion. It's not. I meant it to be a safe place where we could all have fun and fight prejudice and I'm worried that we will be blocked from participating from one of the year's largest events - whether it be because of a misunderstanding or a real abuse of power. I want to try my hardest to get us in and I will work as hard as possible to get Hanes to start helping us. In the event that I cannot, and Craig can not help us, only then will I evaluate other options (legal action or publicity). I will take full responsibility for my choice of action.

Thank you to anyone who wants to support.

Have a great week, go see Harry Potter, and eat Turkey! :D
Spread the love <3

Sincerely,
Your President

Sorry!

Sorry to everyone looking forward to GSA today. I cancelled because we really didn't have anyone coming.

I got over half the members coming up to me today with "I'd love to come, but... [[insert reason(s) here]]."
When that happens with one or two, I usually just carry on, but... there was seriously, no one. Even our advisor was planning on being gone (which would have meant no videos anyway). I'm not mad, but actually kind of relieved. I myself was totally exhausted today.

We'll watch the videos next time, discuss the website, and share ideas and stories. Nothing too important is coming up, with election day already here and all.

Anyways, enjoy your day off. I know I did.

Spread the love,
Your President :)

UPDATE:
In other news, this makes me smile. Enjoy.

Videos

So here are the videos we watched in GSA today. They really make a statement, I think. All can be found on youtube. :)

The New Site

I'm working on adding pages and getting all set up. There is a base down, but this WILL be functioning by the end of my reign. I would even like to link it to the school website, if at all possible. :)

It's a slow project, but someone's got to do it.

Comments and ideas are encouraged, as are followers. All you need is a google account~!

This area, the blog on the homepage, will be used to post news, ideas, stories, and plans before they are sorted to either the archive or the events page.

Authors (officers) are going to be added. I would like to keep this a group project to some extent.

I'll keep you posted, folks~! Keep on spreading the love!
